What we store
- Your email address and a salted hash of your password.
- Your kids' first names as you enter them or as your school portal lists them, the rules you set, and the devices you assign.
- If you connect ParentVUE: the portal address, your parent username, your parent password (encrypted at rest), and your kids' current class grades and missing-assignment counts.
- From the home connector: the list of devices your router reports (name, MAC and local IP) and when the connector last checked in.
- If you join the waitlist: your email, router, school portal and number of kids.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data, show ads, or use your kids' grades for anything except your rules.
- We never receive your router password or API key. Those stay on the computer that runs the home connector.
- We don't collect data directly from children. HomeRoom accounts are for parents and guardians only.
Your school portal login
HomeRoom signs in to your district's portal with the parent credentials you provide, the same way the official app does, only to read grades. You can disconnect at any time, which deletes the stored password and the imported grades immediately.
Deleting your account
Email [email protected] from your account email and we'll delete your household and everything in it within 7 days.
